Iranian documentary ‘Beloved’ wins six awards at several international festivals.

Iranian documentary ‘Beloved’, directed by Yasser Talebi, has succeeded to grab six awards at several international film festivals.

The six awards are as follows:

Special Jury Award at the Religion Today Film Festival in Italy

Best Cinematography Award at the Symi International Film Festival in Greece

Best Film Award at Nuovi Mondi Film Festival in the Italian city of Turin

Special Jury Award at the Slemani International Film Festival in Iraq

The Best Documentary and the Best Cinematography Jury awards at the Sole Luna Doc Film Festival in Italy

The doc’s international competition will continue with its participation at the Edmonton Inte’l filmfest in Canada, Fidba Inte’l filmfest in the Italian capital of Buenos Aires and Apricot Tree Ujan Ine’l filmfest in Armenia.

Talebi’s acclaimed doc has won a number of international awards including the NETPAC Award at the 2019 Ulju Mountain Film Festival in South Korea, the Special Prize at Slovenia’s Kranjska Gora International Film Festival, the Best Feature Documentary Award and a diploma at 15th Kazan International Muslim Film Festival in the Russian Republic of Tatarstan, and the Jury Special Mention at the 67th Trento International Film Festival in Italy.

The 63-minute doc is about the difficult but favorable life of an 82-year-old mother named Firouzeh who runs a unique life in the Alborz Mountains, north Iran.

Firouzeh hikes across the rugged landscape carrying bundles of wood. When she was a young girl, a marriage was arranged for her with an older man, with whom she had 11 children. Now, none of her children come to visit her and her attempts to get closer to them remain futile.
